Transition From Agrarian community to Commodity Driven Community in Ethiopia

Abstract:  Transforming self-sufficiency and transitioning to a commodity-driven community can be a key strategy for Ethiopia to increase its agricultural productivity and generate higher incomes for farmers. By producing crops for sale on the global commodity market, farmers can generate a surplus of products that can be sold for profit, increasing their income, and improving their livelihoods. This transition requires investment in modern production techniques, infrastructure, and market linkages, as well as addressing the challenges associated with market fluctuations and price volatility.
